Support Your Body In The Early Weeks
Without Rushing The Healing Process
Too Soon For Exercise, But Not Too Soon For Support
Sleepless nights and long days of feeding, holding, rocking, bouncing, and babywearing: these are physical demands.
I felt them in my body, and you probably do too.
You wonder about things like:
What should my first walk look like?
How do I wear my baby in the carrier while still protecting my pelvic floor?
Should I try belly binding?
How do I care for my c-section scar once the hospital's protocol ends?
You crave deeper support, but it's hard to tell what's safe when all you've been told is to "do nothing" until your 6-week checkup.
Caring for our newly postpartum bodies has finally entered a more mainstream conversation.
Phrases like "just rest" or "sleep when the baby sleeps" feel (quite literally!) like tired advice.
Though we still have a long way to go, we can all agree that properly caring for our physical bodies in the first 6 weeks postpartum is non-negotiable.
It’s Never Too Soon To Notice Your Body
There is a better way to heal your postpartum body than resting without guidance
We can connect into our core and pelvic floor without rushing our healing.
We can prioritize this window of sacred rest, while still giving our physical body the gentle support it needs right now.
We can be cozy in bed under a sleeping newborn, while also connecting back into our pelvic floor.
We can have a quick practice to ease the neck and shoulder tension from feeding all night long.
And, we can do it all in or near the bed, as we REST after birth.

Baby Steps:
Postpartum Healing In 5 Minutes/Day
Restful Repair is a gentle, pilates-based postpartum recovery program designed to support your body in the earliest weeks after birth, without rushing the healing process.
Rooted in the belief that the first 40 days should prioritize rest, nourishment, and bonding, this program offers short, approachable daily practices (just ~5 minutes a day) that guide you through foundational breath work, core awareness, and pelvic floor connection.
Beginning fully in bed and gradually progressing to seated, hands-and-knees, and light standing work, each week builds upon each other to reconnect with your body, support recovery from pregnancy and birth and lay the groundwork for safe, confident movement in the weeks ahead.
Support Your Postpartum Body From Day 1
Postpartum healing begins after you give birth, not at a 6 week checkup
In bed, before you're ready for anything else.
Gentle breathwork and core awareness you can do lying down, while your baby naps on your chest.
Reconnecting with your pelvic floor, without pressure to "do it right."
Simple, guided practices to help you notice and reconnect. Presence > perfection!
Relief for the body that's been holding you together.
Quick practices to ease the tension in your neck, shoulders, and back from feeding, rocking, and holding.
Tune out the noise, get answers instead.
How much can I walk right now? How do I babywear without straining my pelvic floor? Should I try belly binding, and if so, how?
A path forward, when your body says so.
From bed, to seated, to hands-and-knees, to light standing. One step at a time, never rushing the healing process.
Hi, I’m Claire!
I’m the owner and founder of Pea Body Pilates. Most importantly, I’m a mom of 2.
For the past 8+ years, I've helped moms move through conditions such as diastasis recti, C-section recovery, prolapse and other pelvic floor dysfunctions.
My approach is unconventional because I am not loyal to one method, but rather loyal to what your body needs. Pilates, strength training and corrective exercise all comprise my approach to a balanced, strong and functional body.
Getting back into things like running, the gym or simply being strong to show up for motherhood are just a few of the many goals women come to me with.
I don't believe in bounce-back culture or quick fixes. I believe that with consistency, intelligent programming, and the right coach in your corner, there's no goal out of reach.
6 weeks postpartum or 16 years out, it takes a village to raise a mother. I’d be honored to be a part of yours.

What’s Inside

Beginning with guided visualizations and moving into gentle, guided movement done in bed (or near bed, in the later weeks), we'll work through key themes of postpartum healing:
Pelvic floor mapping, femur mobilization, gentle glute activation, and deep core reconnection help wake up the muscles and regions you'll need once life gets up and going again.
Themes like thoracic spine and rib cage mobility help ease the upper-body tension that comes with newborn care, while also supporting pelvic floor healing.
All videos are between 3-5 minutes, always prioritizing rest and recovery above everything.
-
“Listen to your body” means nothing if we don’t know what to listen for!
Learn to actually listen to your body during these weeks and beyond:
What’s “normal,” what’s common but not normal, and what to look out for.
-
Babywearing is one of the earliest physical demands you'll face after birth, well before your body has finished healing.
Baby wearing incorrectly can strain the pelvic floor, so we'll walk through proper positioning to still support your healing during wonderful, cozy, hands-free time!
-
Belly binding is an age-old postpartum practice that has sadly turned into a world of waist trainers.
I adore this practice, but done incorrectly, it can do more harm than good.
We'll cover what it does, whether it's right for you, and how to bind safely and correctly. I’ll also give you my favorite binder recs, because there are a LOT out there.

Every new mom comes to postpartum recovery with questions no one fully answered.
“When can I start exercising again?”
“When can I return to running?”
“Is it normal to still look pregnant months later? What about leaking?”
“When can I start working on my c-section scar?”
These are just a few examples, and I’m constantly adding to this list.
-
C-section recovery involves healing through multiple layers of tissue, and scar care beyond the post-surgery protocol is often left out of standard postpartum guidance.
We'll walk through gentle scar massage techniques: how to safely begin, what to look and feel for, and how consistent care can help reduce tightness, numbness, and restriction around the scar over time.

You Ask, I Answer
Do I need any equipment?
Nope! A few small props are nice to have, but there are substitutions with things like pillows or household items. Every practice is designed to be done in or near your bed, with little more than your body and a few minutes.
How much time does this take everyday?
Just 5 minutes a day. The practices are short by design, aiming for consistency over perfection. Not adding to your mental load is a consideration I take very seriously :)
Will this help with diastasis recti or pelvic floor issues?
Restful Repair lays the foundation for core and pelvic floor healing: reconnection, awareness, and gentle activation. It is in no way a substitute for pelvic floor physical therapy, but it's an excellent starting point and pairs well with additional support.
What if I don't finish it in 40 days?
There is absolutely no deadline! Move at whatever pace your body and your days allow, the practices are yours to return to whenever you need them, for as long as you need them.
Is this safe before my 6-week checkup?
Yes! Restful Repair is designed specifically for the earliest weeks after birth, beginning from day 1 if you’d like. Every practice is gentle enough to begin in bed, well within what's appropriate for this stage of healing. (If you had a complicated birth or have specific concerns, it's always worth checking with your provider first.)
Is this a return to exercise program? No. Restful Repair is about supporting your body's natural healing in the earliest weeks after birth, and creating the right conditions for exercise later on. This program is fully rooted in rest, reconnection and gentle care.
Is this safe after a c-section?
Yes! There is an entire section dedicated to healing from a C-section, and all of the daily practices are designed to promote reconnection with affected areas from a belly birth.
What if I'm already past 6 weeks postpartum?
While it's designed to begin in the earliest days, the foundational practices are valuable no matter when you start. It’s never too late!

Some of the photos on this page were taken at my own births by Suzannah Weening, who passed away in March 2026.
A bright light of the SF birth community and beyond, Suzannah was a beloved mother, midwife, doula, advocate, and birth photographer (among many other wonderful things).
With immense gratitude I share this GoFundMe, which helps support her two daughters and husband.
