Pea Body Pilates Run Club
(Re)Discover the Joy of Running!
A safe, mindful and effective way to get back to the activity you love—or discover it for the first time.
A 12-Week Postpartum Return to Running Program
Pea Body Pilates Run Club is a holistic, targeted training plan that puts your postpartum body’s needs first, building a strong foundation from the ground up.
(Because a generic running plan just won’t cut it!).
Together we will combine progressive running (or walking!) sessions, Pilates and strength training form our comprehensive training plan.
How it Works + How It’s Different
Targeted pilates and strength sessions
Throughout our program, we’ll practice signature classes taught by me:
Pilates for running and strength training for running.
We’ll focus on core and foundational strength crucial for running, especially when postpartum. You’ll build a resilient body that supports your running goals, not just a running plan that ignores your body’s new demands.
There are 7 classes total and you progress at your own pace.
You’ll also get live coaching from me for the entire 12 weeks in our private facebook group! n pace.
progressive, at-you-own-pace running sessions
We start safely. From brisk walks and short walk/run intervals to longer, continuous runs by the end, you’ll build endurance safely and avoid injury.
(Our first run only includes about 5 minutes of running, I mean it when I say that anyone can do it!).
If you aren’t quite ready to run yet, you can walk the entire program and still do the strength training!
By the end of the program, you might find yourself running a 5K!
Flexible and realistic schedule:
Our plan is built for mom’s with little free time in mind (hi!).
We’ll train together for 12 weeks, but it’s all on your own schedule.
You decide how often and how long you train.
Five minutes? 45 minutes? It’s all up to you!
With options for different days and durations, you can make this program work for you (not the other way around).
Running will become a source of strength and not another stressor.
New to Running? Great!
Been A While? Great!
This isn’t about logging miles to log miles.

The 12 Week Road Map
Three distinct phases, each designed to build upon the last.
Phase 1: Foundations (Weeks 1-4)
This phase is all about creating a solid base. We focus on consistent movement through brisk walking and introduce very short intervals of running. You'll also learn key foundational strength and mobility exercises to prepare your body for the road ahead. We start with 2-minute walks followed by 1-minute runs and gradually progress to longer intervals.
Phase 2: Building Endurance (Weeks 5-8)
Now that you have a solid foundation, we'll start building your stamina. We'll increase the duration of your running intervals and introduce slightly longer continuous runs. The Pilates and strength sessions will also progress to help you get stronger and more stable as you increase your mileage.
Phase 3: Increasing Mileage (Weeks 9-12)
In this final phase, we'll focus on longer, continuous runs to help you reach your goals, whether that's a comfortable 30-40 minute run or even your first 5K! We'll continue to incorporate strength and mobility to ensure you finish the program feeling strong, confident, and ready for whatever comes next.
A brief escape that is completely your own.
A mental purge.
Returning to your day with mental clarity, patience and joy (yes, please!)
Running is a powerful tool to reclaim a small part of your day, your mind, and your body.

This program is designed with postpartum recovery in mind. If you have been cleared for exercise by a medical provider and running feels good to you, this program can provide an excellent, safe foundation. The strength and Pilates workouts are specifically chosen to support and build your core and pelvic floor function. If running isn’t feeling right or you have been advised not to run, you can still participate by walking the entire program and focusing on the strength and Pilates workouts. Walking is one of the best activities for pelvic floor health!
Keep in mind that prolapse is a very complex condition that should be treated on a 1:1 basis. Only do this program if you have prolapse and your medical provider has cleared you to exercise in a self-directed format.
-
If you plan to run, we recommend you be at least 4+ months postpartum and have been cleared for exercise by a medical professional. Ideally, you will have also seen a pelvic floor physical therapist. If you plan to walk the program instead, you can begin as soon as you have clearance from your doctor and feel ready. As always, listen to your body and honor where you are in your recovery journey.
-
Absolutely not! While this program is tailored to the needs of the postpartum body, anyone can participate. The more the merrier!
-
No problem at all. All of the workouts can be done with just your body weight. For the Pilates sessions, any props can be easily substituted with common household items, like a pillow instead of a ball.
-
You are in control of your training schedule. The running sessions will vary from 5-10 minutes in the beginning and build up to 30-45 minutes as you progress. Our circuit-style strength workouts are designed so you can choose a duration that works for you, whether that's 7 minutes or 40 minutes. The Pilates sessions are 30 minutes long.
-
You'll have a flexible schedule with movement for 6 days each week. Some days are focused on running, while others are for strength training or active recovery with Pilates and light walking. The schedule can always be adjusted to fit your life, not the other way around.
-
You will have a direct line to me through our private Facebook group. This will be a supportive space for you to connect with other moms in the program, ask questions, and share your wins. I will personally answer every question and offer guidance, support, and virtual high-fives along the way. Feel free to participate as much as you like, or simply follow along and soak it all in!
oh, and allow me to introduce myself,
I’m Claire!
mama, pilates Instructor, and specialist of the postpartum body.
I’m also the owner and founder of Pea Body Pilates.
I help moms move and feel good in their bodies like never before.
My approach to movement is unconventional and unique; I do not stick to one method. I have training and education across multiple approaches to working with the body: Pilates, yoga, pelvic floor education and physical therapy techniques work together to comprise my holistic programming. Seeing the body as a whole, rather than individual parts, is crucial to postpartum healing and repair.
After baby, you CAN feel like yourself again. In fact, you can feel like an even better version of you.
Yes, even with less time, less sleep and a messier house.
the tldr:
we start 9/15 and will train together 6 days/week, for 12 weeks.
walking, running, strength training and pilates comprises our comprehensive plan. (don’t worry, there are rest/recovery days!).
you decide what you have time for: 5 minutes, 45 minutes, or somewhere in between.
you can walk the entire program if you prefer.
i’ll be your coach the entire time and you can ask me anything as we go. (Yes, that includes personalized advice tailored to your very own body!).
by the end of the 12 weeks, (dec 8th), we’ll have hit a 5k. (turkey trot this year?). We’re done right in time for the holidays, new years resolution already checked off before the year ends!

“My sessions with Claire are the highlight of my week and I am thrilled with how strong and healthy I feel. I was immediately struck by both your warmth and knowledge. You always knew the precise, tiny adjustment that would make my sessions the most productive while protecting my problematic low back. Your cueing and explanations are incredible- your knowledge of anatomy and how various parts of the body work together. Old aches and pains are diminished, I have more physical control, and my core! I have degenerative disc disease but having a strong core (and rest of my body!) is such a relief and makes me confident that I can remain healthy and injury-free for a long time! I have had 11 surgeries in the past few years and I believe my Pilates sessions with Claire have allowed me to bounce back and recover so quickly. I feel there's nothing I can't get over :).
Besides getting the best workout for my body, it is just a delight to spend time with you. You care about your clients lives and well-being in addition to their physical health. After class I feel great! Stronger, more limber, and have an overall sense of accomplishment. You should 100% take classes with Claire. 150%! You will be so happy you did. A) She is the loveliest person. B) SHE KNOWS HER STUFF C) She will listen to you, remember your specific issues, and ensure you are getting a workout that is both productive and safe D) Pilates, in the hands of a skilled practitioner like Claire, is AMAZING! It is the perfect mix of strengthening and stretching - pushing your body without punishing it. I have never felt stronger! Doing mat Pilates with Claire has totally changed my body.” -Erica

“There's a depth to the feeling in your muscles you get when you're doing Pilates with Claire that is unlike anything I've ever experienced. I have spent my whole life feeling like I am bad at sports and generally unathletic; I no longer feel unathletic - I just had to find a kind of exercise that involved a set of skills that suited me better. I feel strong, and have noticed that my posture is so much less lopsided, even when I am not actively correcting it. That is huge and gives me a sense of confidence in the way I carry myself.
I have recently began running again, and I am running stronger, faster, and with better form than when I ran cross country. I feel a big part of that is due to Pilates with Claire for multiple reasons: The strength component of Pilates has developed muscles that I never would have focused on or built up otherwise. I've learned deep breathing techniques that I try to incorporate into running. My core strength keeps me upright and in an efficient posture while running. Overall, I feel more capable as a runner when combined with Pilates.
After our classes I always, every time, feel so good - proud of myself, pleasantly sore/tired, but simultaneously energized.” -Zarine

“Getting to know Claire's work and practices have been one of the highlights and most healing things in modern life. Claire is an exceptional Pilates teacher. She is supportive, and a great communicator. Though we originally began working together to recover from a leg injury, this ultimately led to a level of strength and fitness I could have never imagined. Practicing Pilates together has been one of the best investments I’ve made in myself and my health. I highly recommend working with Claire.” -Susan

“My relationship with Claire, one that is founded on trust, healing, strength, agility, consciousness, and connection.
What makes Claire so special is she brings a holistic, whole health and human-centered approach to her unparalleled depth and breadth of practice. Because of Claire’s rigor and thoughtfulness in customizing our sessions together, I am able to listen to body in new ways.
She has enabled me to make connections between how my body stores stress and how her carefully crafted fluid movements can decompress, improve flexibility, and build strength. Since we’ve been practicing together, the nature of our practice has changed to accommodate my health and level of fitness.
Part of our practice has centered around pelvic floor release work. I am eternally grateful to Claire for her guidance and expertise in this area. She has really saved me in my times of pain and her tenderness has made me realize I am not alone. She has provided me the precious gift of healing and hope
Claire is a visionary with so much to give to her clients and her community.” -Jill

“I am 74 years old (!!!!!) and have “worked out” my entire adult life, including various types of dance, competitive swimming, strength training, yoga and pretty much everything in between. When I started private sessions with Claire I was laboring under two misconceptions; first, that I was already as strong as I could hope to be at my age, and second, that the lower back pain that had plagued me for decades was probably a given, due to scoliosis and now, osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease. After five years with Claire as my teacher, I can honestly say I was completely wrong on both counts. I feel stronger than I did a decade ago, and, even better, my back pain has all but disappeared. Claire designs our virtual classes with my particular body in mind. Each session feels like a mini adventure; no two are ever the same, and her attention to the most subtle detail of movement is, frankly, amazing. That she is a genuinely thoughtful and lovely person is icing on the cake!”

“This was an emotional one. Thank you for all you do. Claire has had such a huge impact on my body, my movements and overall quality of life! I have been on a journey with Claire since 2017 to fight chronic back pain. Claire has helped me overcome some of my most challenging and overwhelming times, where surgery or endless pain seemed like the only option. Her gentle approach, passion for healthy movements and attention to detail have helped me progress in times I didn’t think possible. I can’t believe the guidance she is able to give me over a zoom call! Her precise directions,/corrections change everything in how my body feels. I can’t stress enough how grateful I am for the work we do together.
I have gone from dark days of feeling unable to play with my little girl, to happily chasing my daughter at the park, and carrying her soon-to-be baby brother…here I am in my third trimester, keeping up with a two year old, and yet I feel healthy and stable. I never thought I would get here without huge amounts of pain.
Thank you, Claire for bringing such wellness to both my body and my mind. I’m so grateful for her work in helping my spine and for her deep understanding of a woman’s journey through pregnancy and postnatal recovery. I can’t wait to attack postpartum with her and make this body even stronger!” -Vanessa

"I was nearing 6 weeks postpartum and would soon be cleared by my doctor for exercise. I've always enjoyed taking pilates classes, but was looking to do something more tailored to where I was in my postpartum journey. My sister had been taking private lessons and knew Claire would be a great fit for me, so she gifted me a set of lessons. My body was still recovering from a c-section and it had been a while since I exercised. I generally felt quite weak, especially in my core. After just our first class, I started to feel stronger and more confident to begin exercising once again. Our classes are perfectly tailored to where I am in my recovery, while still challenging me a bit more each week.
It's incredibly reassuring to know that you're focusing on exercises that are safe and effective for a postpartum body. I feel fantastic after each session and so much stronger than when I started. Claire is a fantastic instructor and I'm so impressed with how she is able to help me make adjustments throughout class via Zoom. Claire creates a warm and welcoming environment, and her joy in teaching shines through. She knows the postnatal context well so you can feel confident that she's teaching safe and effective exercises that will support your body in its recovery. “Claire’s classes are a highlight of the week - they ground me, reset my body, and are a real complement to other forms of exercise I engage in. During classes, I feel looked after - Claire curates her classes in a way that make me feel cared for. She also gives options to make the class “your own.” After 6 months of consistent classes, I felt stronger, more toned, in better shape, and that my investment in my well-being was worthwhile. What surprised me was that consistent practice, even slowly, makes progress. I was used to fast-paced, high-energy HIIT classes that, while fun, taxed me and put undue strain on me. Adjusting to the calming but strengthening pace of Claire’s Pilates classes was an adjustment, but an adjustment I was willing to make and an adjustment I’m glad I made. I saw more healthy progress with Claire’s Pilates than I ever did with the HIIT classes. I also love talking about it with friends and giving them small tips I learn during class about breathing, how to sit up taller, how to properly engage my muscles, and more. During my consistent practice, I felt like my body was functioning more in-tune with my brain; Pilates with Claire is a time for my body to do some work, tire itself out, and get the stretch it needed." -Jessica

“Claires' classes are the perfect antidote to more than a decade spent sitting in front of a computer, which has resulted in pain and stiffness in various parts of the body. She takes the time to understand the body issues you are experiencing and her sessions are always expertly designed to target the areas which need the most attention. This, plus the positive energy she exudes, always means I leave her sessions feeling so good! Looser, stronger and more energized.
Her homework exercises allow me to extend her sessions throughout the week, and over time through her teaching, I have built up my own personalized library of strengthening and stretching exercises. Making creating a personal practice between sessions so easy. All in all this has resulted in me having a more limber and progressively stronger body, and most importantly being pain free during my working hours.” -Shona

“I started working with Claire online during the pandemic, and immediately recognized her gift as an instructor. She gently encourages her clients to push themselves "just a little bit more", and is committed to her own self improvement as an instructor. I wasn’t new to Pilates, and soon we began private sessions over Zoom. What I love about our work together is how I have learned to be much more precise in integrating the right muscles to complete an exercise. I am always surprised how much more challenging the exercises are when they are done correctly! Pilates with Claire just makes my body feel good AND helps me excel in other sports; I have a much greater awareness and appreciation of how to activate muscles independent of each other to achieve specific movements. I always look forward to Claire’s unique twist on our workouts. -Sabrina

I was referred to Claire by our Doula when I was postpartum. I was 6 weeks and “cleared” to start working out again but had severe prolapse and tailbone pain so returning to the gym straight away was not an option I felt comfortable with.
I started with Claire to rebuild my pelvic floor and core strength. Working with Claire I felt stronger and more aware of my body quicker than I expected, and much more helpful than any of the physical therapy I was getting. After our initial healing work, I continued with my 1:1 sessions because of how good my body feels during and after. It’s the biggest treat I’ve given to myself since becoming a mom.
My son is 17 months I’m now halfway through my pregnancy with my second and have loved having Pilates as part of my routine this time around- from maintaining my strength, to better injury prevention this time around. I’m also thrilled to have Claire and these sessions in my tool box for this next postpartum journey!
